=== DOOMSDAY ===
SETTLERS OF THE WASTELAND
Welcome to Doomsday: Settlers of the Wasteland, the ultimate on-chain survival game and sequel to
Doomsday NFT.
Set centuries after the Doomsday event, players compete to establish Settlements spread across the Wasteland.
As society grows in size and complexity, the new Renaissance puts increasing pressure on the limited resources
of this already damaged world. Eventually, unsustainable growth causes society to collapse, and the world enters
a Dark Age. Increasingly severe disasters will lay waste to Settlements until only one remains, inheriting
the wealth of the previous age and beginning the cycle again.
On-Chain Wasteland
Settlers of the Wasteland is fully on-chain. The locations and all properties of Settlements are compactly stored
in the game's smart contracts, with all game calculations done by these smart contracts. All outcomes of the
game are determined by a combination of player behaviour and transparent, immutable, on-chain methods.

Mineable
Settlements can only be created by mining, the same process used to create Bitcoin. Players compete by
mining to find the next Settlement location. As the number of Settlements grows, they become more difficult to
mine. Players can mint up to 20 Settlements at once.
Settlements Grow
The new Renaissance is an interconnected society, where all Settlements are the
beneficiaries of civilisation's growth. Every Settlement has a unique artwork, based on the token's hash
(a product of the mining process). The Settlement artwork grows to reflect the growth of the Settlement.
Accumulates ETH
As Settlements grow, they accumulate ETH. The larger the Settlement illustration, the more ETH it generally
contains. Different settlements have different Primary Industries which dictates how quickly they accumulate
ETH. Settlements with more advanced Industries accumulate ETH faster, but are rarer. The owner of a Settlement
can Abandon it to claim this ETH.
The Collapse
The economy of the new Renaissance requires constant growth in order to sustain itself. A timer counts down to
when this civilisation will collapse. Every time a new Settlement is founded, the timer extends. But the more
Settlements that exist, the shorter the extension. When the timer reaches zero, the world enters a Dark Age,
and no more Settlements can be founded.

Disasters
Every Settlement can be found on the Wasteland Map. During the Dark Age, random Disasters
( Drought, Famine, Plague and Raider attacks) are calculated every 75 blocks (approx. 15 mins) using a
transparent, immutable, on-chain method, with Disasters rendered on the Wasteland Map. A reward of 0.008 ETH or 0.01 ETH is
paid to anyone who confirms a Disaster that affects a Settlement. Settlement owners are given priority when confirming
disasters. Each Settlement is immune to one type of Disaster.
ETH Prize
The owner of the final surviving Settlement in the Dark Age collects a prize pot of ETH from mint fees and Settlement Reinforcement.
The precise value of this pool is proportional to how much ETH is collected, with a small % set aside for the
creator and Disaster confirmations.
Reinforce
Increase your Settlement's chances of surviving by Reinforcing it. There are four types of Reinforcement, one
for each Disaster type. For each level of Reinforcement, a Settlement can survive an extra Disaster of that
type. Without Reinforcement, Settlements will be destroyed after a single Disaster. Reinforcement costs are
added to the prize pot.
Abandon
If your nerves of steel turn to jelly, you can Abandon your Settlement. You forfeit your Settlement - it will
be destroyed but you will receive a portion of the ETH pot relative to how long your Settlement survived.
Trade
All Settlements are ERC721-compliant NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. At any time during the game you may buy
and sell surviving Settlements.
